Daihatsu’s striking new – and considerably larger – Terios 4×4 sport utility goes on sale in early May, heralding an exciting new direction for the Japanese compact car specialist.
The Terios follows on from last year’s new Sirion in offering a strong European flavour to its styling, packaging and dynamics.
As a result, Daihatsu aims to boost European sales from the 32,000 of 2003 to 80,000 in 2008.

Compact car specialist, Daihatsu, is making the sunshine more affordable this spring and summer thanks to a £2,000 price cut for the Copen sportscar.
This brings prices down to £11,495 (on-the-road) for the standard cloth-trimmed model with a leather pack option adding £500.

Citroën’s first ever SUV, the C-Crosser, is now available in showrooms across the country. The four-wheel drive C-Crosser breaks new ground for the Company, combining distinctive Citroën qualities – strong styling, practicality and sound green engineering – to provide buyers with a sleek, spacious, robust and comfortable car with a flexible seating lay-out and a new, clean, fuel efficient HDi diesel engine with a Diesel Particulate Filter System (DPFS).
The C-Crosser will be offered in two well-specified trim levels – VTR+ and Exclusive. Both models feature automatic air conditioning, six airbags, alarm, a 5+2 seating configuration, cruise control, automatic headlamps, ABS and ESP with traction control as standard, while the Exclusive adds leather upholstery, rear parking sensors, 18” alloys and a 6 CD autochanger. Recommended retail prices are £22,790 for the VTR+ and £25,490 for the Exclusive.

Citroën’s cult favourite, the C4 transforming robot, returns to the small screen this week as a runner in the Company’s latest television commercial. As the third in the series, which has previously featured the dancing style of Justin Timberlake and the moves of British Olympic speed skater, Nicky Gooch, the new ad sees the C4 robot spring into life at a toll road booth before sprinting around a mountain pass.

Citroën continues to win plaudits from motor industry experts with the presentation of six new honours, half of which have gone to the new Grand C4 Picasso compact MPV, by two specialist publications – What Diesel Car? and Fleet World. In the UK, diesel sales have grown to account for some 40% of all vehicles sold. Since the launch of the 7-seat Grand C4 Picasso and 5-seat C4 Picasso earlier this year, three-quarters of the 6,000 models registered have been equipped with a diesel engine.

Citroën is enhancing the driver convenience of the C5 with the introduction of an automatic transmission for the range-topping 173hp 2.2HDi engine, in both saloon and estate models. This follows on from the recent addition of this refined, fuel efficient diesel unit to the Company’s flagship C6 line-up.
The C5 2.2HDi automatic will offer an outstanding blend of performance, refinement and economical fuel consumption, with 39mpg possible on the combined cycle, to complement the 6-speed manual gearbox model that is already on-sale in the UK. Maximum torque of 295 lb.ft is available from 1,750 rpm while the car can hit a top speed of 138mph and go from 0-62mph in 9.5 seconds.
