Cadillac reinforced its commitment to grow its brand in Europe by announcing it will add the BLS Wagon to its portfolio later this year. “The Cadillac BLS Wagon is an appealing addition to the Cadillac portfolio for customers preferring dramatically designed luxury vehicles that offer versatility and performance along with outstanding ride and handling characteristics,” said Cadillac General Manager Jim Taylor. “This is the first Cadillac wagon in our 104-year history, and we think it will do well in many European markets where consumers desire a high degree of versatility and functionality in their performance luxury vehicles.”

Cadillac to Debut GM's Powerful New V-6 Clean Diesel

General Motors unveiled a new 2.9-liter V-6 turbo-diesel engine that features state-of-the-art injection and combustion technology for minimum emissions and maximum performance. The new engine (184 kW/250 hp) will be mainly sold in Europe and makes its debut at the Geneva Motor Show (March 8-18). Its first production application is scheduled for 2009 in the new Cadillac CTS.

“We expect the V-6 diesel to be highly competitive in the European luxury segment,” said Jim Taylor, Cadillac General Manager. “With its excellent low-end torque and its high power output, it is a great fit with Cadillac’s performance-oriented brand character.”

Cadillac will open the next chapter of its 21st century product story, as the 2008 CTS sedan makes its European premiere at the 2007 Salon International de l’Auto in Geneva, Switzerland. The new luxury sedan is scheduled to begin production in the United States, in late summer of 2007, with European sales to follow in the fall.

“The all-new CTS has a mission to bring the striking design of a concept car, the performance of a sports car and sophistication of an elegant sedan right into the heart of the luxury market,” said Cadillac General Manager Jim Taylor. “Cadillac is injecting more dramatic character into the normally reserved luxury sedan category.”

Yesterday Cadillac opened the next chapter of its ongoing 21 st century comeback story, as the 2008 CTS Sedan made its world premiere at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The performance luxury sedan is scheduled to begin production in late-summer of 2007, with worldwide sales to follow in the fall.

Cadillac debuts Platinum Series at LA Auto Show

Cadillac has announced the introduction of a limited-edition Platinum Series for the XLR roadster and STS saloon. The new range will bring additional elegant design touches, further extending Cadillac’s reinvention of its interior styling and appointments.

Cadillac’s XLR-V and STS-V will be available in Europe during the second quarter of 2007, adding to the brand’s credentials in the elite-level performance arena. The new Platinum Series aims to do the same within the luxury sector. The vehicles were inspired by the very popular Escalade ESV Platinum that was offered in the USA between the 2004 and 2006 model years, introducing many new features to the luxury SUV marketplace.

Cadillac’s global expansion reaches South Africa

General Motors is set to launch the Cadillac brand in South Africa early in 2007. Three models will initially be available – the BLS mid-size saloon, the SRX crossover SUV, and the STS full-size saloon. Each of the vehicles embodies Cadillac’s distinctive bold design, innovative technology and outstanding performance.

“The portfolio we are offering in South Africa has been developed for luxury international markets,” said James Vurpillat, director of International Marketing and Brand Development for Cadillac. “The STS and SRX have achieved success in North America, Europe and Asia, and the new mid-size BLS has been an important addition to our Cadillac portfolio. South Africa is one of the fastest growing automobile markets in the world, and with our distinct portfolio of luxury vehicles, Cadillac is ready to further its expansion on the African continent.”

Cadillac showcases new SLS at Auto China 2006

Shanghai General Motors is showcasing a brand new luxury saloon at this year’s international motor show in Beijing, Auto China 2006, which begins on November 18. The Cadillac SLS has been designed for the Chinese market and is based on the STS luxury saloon. The interior has been styled to meet the requirements of China’s primarily chauffeur-driven luxury segment and it has been lengthened by 100 mm to add extra rear seat legroom.

Cadillac confirms that the all-new 2008 CTS will make its world premiere in January 2007 at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. “Cadillac has engineered an historic renaissance, with a completely new product portfolio, driven in large part by the original CTS,” said general manager Jim Taylor. “Success can drive conservatism, but not for Cadillac. The next chapter, beginning in January, promises to be even more dramatic.”
