Caparo T1 to make its ‘debut in action’ at Goodwood Festival of Speed

The much heralded Caparo T1 will make its first public appearance as a running car at the 15th Goodwood Festival of Speed. The T1 will be one of the star attractions at this world famous UK event, which will be held over the weekend of 22-24 June 2007. The T1 will participate in the Goodwood hill climb; a 1.16 mile course running through the parkland grounds of Goodwood House and the principal attraction at the annual Festival of Speed. The car will make its ‘debut in action’ as part of the Sunday Times ‘InGear’ Supercar run.

Caparo T1 to star at the Melbourne International Motor Show

The ultra high performance Caparo T1 two-seater, which looks and performs like a Formula One car, will make its first ever appearance in the southern hemisphere as the main attraction at the Melbourne International Motor Show. The Caparo T1 made its Australian debut today (Wednesday 28 February) as part of a motor show cavalcade, before taking centre stage at the show which opens Friday 2 March and runs until Monday 11 March 2007.

Caparo showcases its ‘one stop shop’ design and manufacturing capabilities

Vehicle component specialist Caparo Vehicle Products – including subsidiaries Caparo AP Braking and Caparo Atlas Fastenings – will showcase its closely knit group design, development and manufacturing capabilities with sister company Caparo Aluminium Technologies at the inaugural Professional Motorsport World Expo. The show runs from Wednesday 8 November to Friday 10 November 2006 at the Kölnmesse exhibition centre in Cologne, Germany, and the Caparo companies will be exhibited on stand 4024.

Caparo T1 makes its first US appearance at the SEMA show

The Caparo T1 technology flagship – a high performance and highly aerodynamically efficient track car – will make its debut in the US at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show running Tuesday 31 October to Friday 3 November 2006 at the Las Vegas Convention Centre.

The T1 track racer will be displayed by Michelin (booth 42912) as part of an agreement with the French tyre manufacturer for it to become the car’s exclusive supplier of tyres. As a focal point on their stand, the T1 will help draw attention to the tyre maker’s own technical prowess and innovation skills.

Caparo completes build of first T1 prototype

Caparo completes build of first T1 prototype

Caparo Vehicle Technologies, a brand new company formed earlier this year, has completed the build of the first of two Caparo T1 prototypes. The car’s creators - design director Ben Scott-Geddes and engineering director Graham Halstead - climbed into the high performance two-seater last week to start the engine and complete the first trial run.

“It’s been a fantastic achievement to get this far so quickly,” said Scott-Geddes. “I’m very proud for everyone involved who has helped us so much on a project like this. It takes a very special team to deliver this kind of result in a short time.”

Caparo T1 to present next generation supercar at London motor show

The Caparo T1 – possibly the world’s quickest 2-seater road and track car with a performance equal to an A1 GP racecar – will join a showcase of exotic vehicles in a special ‘SuperCar Paddock’ feature area at the British International Motor Show.

“This will be the first opportunity for half a million visitors to see close-up the next generation of supercar developed using Britain’s world renowned expertise in the design and manufacturer of high performance vehicles,” said Caparo Group chief executive Angad Paul. “The car’s inspiration comes from Ben Scott-Geddes and Graham Halstead – two ex-McLaren engineers who worked previously on the McLaren F1, Mercedes SLR and Formula One projects and who now work, I’m pleased to say, for the Caparo group.”

Caparo T1 to make its UK debut at Goodwood

The world’s most exclusive road and track car - the Caparo T1 - is to make its UK debut at the famous Goodwood Festival of Speed. A preview of the first Caparo T1 prototype will help showcase the company’s technological talents, preceding an attempt on the Goodwood hill climb in 2007.

The brainchild of ex-McLaren engineers, the Caparo T1 has the pedigree and qualifications necessary for a serious attempt up the famous 1-mile hill - but not before completing a rigorous 2006 test programme. Meanwhile, the first pre-production model, built purely as a show car, will tease the crowds as a static exhibit sitting menacingly in the supercar paddock throughout the weekend as it weighs up the opposition.

Prince Albert unveils Caparo T1 at Monaco

Accompanied by massed ranks of press photographers, video cameramen and media journalists, all vying for exclusive pictures and interviews, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II unveiled the exclusive Caparo T1 following the official opening yesterday of the prestigious Top Marques show held in Monaco.

The media were drawn to the event by the appearance of the world’s first ever 1,000bhp-per-tonne ultra high performance road and track car. The T1 was the first car at the show to be visited by Prince Albert, who was introduced to Caparo Vehicle Technologies’ design director Ben Scott-Geddes and engineering director Graham Halstead by Angad Paul chief executive of Caparo plc. The £650m multinational manufacturer and supplier of components to carmakers worldwide, is backing the two ex-McLaren engineers whose inspiration helped create the car.
