Daihatsu Launches New Mini Passenger Car SONICA in Japan

Daihatsu announced the launch in Japan of the new SONICA mini passenger car on June 19. The SONICA is a new concept car, developed in the pursuit of innovatively high quality driving performance for a small car. With target buyer focus on commonly known “freestyle couples” who place great importance on their own personalities and private time, this car anticipates recent lifestyle changes in Japan, as well as the shift of user preference toward smaller cars. The SONICA is the result of Daihatsu’s continuing quest for passenger cars that give their users the driving enjoyment and cruising comfort they are seeking.

Totally new Daihatsu Terios grows up

Daihatsu’s striking new – and considerably larger – Terios 4×4 sport utility goes on sale in early May, heralding an exciting new direction for the Japanese compact car specialist.

The Terios follows on from last year’s new Sirion in offering a strong European flavour to its styling, packaging and dynamics.

As a result, Daihatsu aims to boost European sales from the 32,000 of 2003 to 80,000 in 2008.

Daihatsu makes the sunshine more affordable

Compact car specialist, Daihatsu, is making the sunshine more affordable this spring and summer thanks to a £2,000 price cut for the Copen sportscar.

This brings prices down to £11,495 (on-the-road) for the standard cloth-trimmed model with a leather pack option adding £500.
